2010 International Home & Housewares Show!
In 3 days, the Wine Diaper hits Chicago! Idea Mia is heading to the 2010 Housewares show at the McCormick Center in Chicago.
We're super excited to be taking part in this amazing show--thousands of buyers from stores all over the world will be on site, and we're hoping to wow them with our new product.
As usual, we've got the Italians manning the booth--with the addition of another A+ salesperson: my dad, making his way down from the Great North to lend a hand at the show.

Boston Wine Expo
T-2 days until we hit the Boston Wine Expo! If you happen to be in the area, this is taking place Saturday and Sunday, January 23rd & 24th at the Seaport Convention Center. The Wine Diaper will be there, represented by our Italian team: Marco, Carmine, Alessandro & Roberto. They'll be having specials on the Wine Diapers, giving away bottles of wine, holding demonstrations to show you just how the Wine Diaper absorbs up spills, and highlighting our 2.0 version (coming soon). Win a Pair of Wine Diapers!
That's right. I'm giving away a pair of Wine Diapers to whoever posts to this blog with his/her favorite cool wine gadget! Just to give you an idea, I came across this great gadget today:
Pretty cool, huh? These are called "Picnic Stix," and they are wine holders that come with stems that you just stick into the ground at the park...the beach...wherever you happen to be imbibing! Your wine doesn't tip over AND you look very cool drinking it.

Thanksgiving on the Mind...
Well, Thanksgiving's on my mind today, and I came across a fun article from Forbes that talked about Thanksgiving dinner wine pairings...the guy cited in the article (Gary Vaynerchuk) made 2 great points:
1) Ignore the traditional wine-pairing rules of the other 364 days of the year (red wines with roasted meats; light whites with salad). Forget about every food that's on the Thanksgiving table, actually. "All these rules have pigeonholed creativity," he says. "It's OK; try different things. Have fun with it, don't be intimidated by it."
2) Thanksgiving is a long day. So, if you're going to be drinking wine, be sure to pick varieties or styles you know you can drink all day--in other words, wines that are lower in alcohol and lighter in weight.Very good point! That is, unless you're going for the drunken stupor, which, depending on your family, can be a good idea.
So what's your favorite wine to have with Thanksgiving dinner?
